NOTICE OF ELECTION
Election of One Councillor for the Wincanton Town Council
1. An election is to be held for one Councillor for the Wincanton Town Council.
2. Forms of nomination paper may be obtained from the Returning Officer, The Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT.

Copies can also by requested by telephoning 01935 462462 or by emailing elections@southsomerset.gov.uk
3. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, The Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil, Somerset BA20 2HT between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm on any working day after the date of this notice (excluding Bank Holidays) but not later than 4 pm on Thursday 23 June 2022.
4. If an election is contested, the poll will take place on Wednesday 20 July 2022.
5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Monday 4 July 2022. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
6. New applications to vote by post and requests to cancel or change an existing postal or proxy vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Council Offices Brympton Way Yeovil by 5 pm on Tuesday 5 July 2022, if they are to be effective for this election.
6. New applications to vote by proxy except on the grounds of a medical emergency must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Council Offices Brympton Way Yeovil by 5 pm on Tuesday 12 July 2022, if they are to be effective for this election.
7. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT by 5 pm on Wednesday 20 July 2022. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Tuesday 12 July 2022. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Tuesday 12 July 2022.
