Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2-5 June 2022

Wed, 4 May 2022

On 2nd June 2022 we celebrate a unique milestone in our history, Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th year as our Monarch and Head of the Commonwealth, her Platinum Jubilee, something no previous monarch has achieved!

To mark the event the Council have placed Lamp post signs around the town and there are some beautiful displays on shops and local businesses.

Shortly before the Jubilee weekend, the children's Jubilee artwork (https://wincantontowncouncil.gov.uk/jubilee-events-and-news!.html) will be displayed in a prominent public space.

On Friday 3rd June between 11.30am-4pm (or while stocks last), Bootmakers will be serving free candy floss and crepes through its Church Street window.  This is the Workshop’s thank you to the town for its continued support, and more specifically in recognition of the town children’s hard work making Jubilee artwork.

Also on Friday 3rd June from 12-6pm, a festival style Garden Party open to the public held in the walled garden behind Clementina's shop.

On Saturday 4th June at 11am, the Wincanton bellringers will ring for 20-30 mins outside the Library in Carrington Way and  there will be a Jubilee picnic in Cale Park.

On Sunday 5th June, St Peter & St Paul's will hold a special Jubilee church service and there will be a peal of bells.
