Vacancy for a Town Clerk
Salary Scale: LC3 SCP 37-41 £41,591 to £45,648 (depending on experience and qualifications) plus Local Government Pension Scheme)
Wincanton Town Council is seeking to appoint an innovative, forward thinking, and proactive Town Clerk to support Councillors in achieving their aims and aspirations for the parish of Wincanton. The Town Clerk will have responsibility for ensuring that the instructions of the Council are carried out, work actively with the elected Councillors and be accountable for the effective delivery of Council services.
The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring the Council is up to date with policies, procedures, training, privacy, data protection compliance, the effective management of Council resources and produce all information required for Councillors to make effective and informed decisions at meetings.
Applicants must demonstrate that they have relevant experience of local government law and procedures, effective service delivery, be motivated, community focused, and possess sound managerial, communication and organisational skills.
A Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification is required as a minimum, or a willingness to achieve this within 12 months of commencing the role.
Attendance at evening meetings and weekend events will be required.
