Meet Your Wincanton Town Councillors
![]() | Howard Ellard | My name is Howard Ellard and I am the current Mayor and Chairman of Wincanton Town Council. I have lived in Wincanton and the immediately surrounding area for most of the last 50 years and am a (largely) retired environmental consultant who has spent my working career in the waste and recycling sector. I believe I have the interests of the town at heart and seeks to achieve the best practical outcomes for the town in my dealings with any organisation on behalf of the Town Council. I have a particular interest in sports and recreation facilities and the planning system. Please contact me at any reasonable time if you wish to discuss Town Council related matters. |

![]() | Jen Macfarlane | Having made Wincanton my home a few years ago, I am dedicated to helping the town thrive. I am committed to maintaining our community spirit, supporting the high street and preserving the town’s history, culture and environmental sustainability. I work as a Project Manager for a social justice charity, supporting vulnerable people within our population. It is important to me to bring this compassion and respect into my role as a councilor. With a background in managing pubs, restaurants and multi‑site hospitality operations, I also remain a strong advocate for local hospitality businesses and independent traders. I am the Town Council representative on the Wincanton Carnival Committee and am on the working group for the Wincanton Strategic Plan. |
